2019 Design Institute - "Developing Solutions to Design Problems – Apparel and Interiors"

Participants will learn about “Empathic Design” using a Mixed Reality Lab.  You become the Designer.  A Designer, capable of solving a “real” apparel or interior design problem using technology as you develop the 4-H Life Skill of “empathy,” being sensitive to or identifying with another person’s situation, feeling or motives.”

Who:

  • 4-H member 7th- 12th grades
  • Adult 4-H Volunteers and County Extension Educators

Lots of FUN and NEW Experiences in a Mixed Reality Lab

Experiences:

  • Virtual/Augmented Reality Experiences – Computer-generated interactive experiences of a real-world environment using sensory information
  • Eye Tracking – Technology used by designers to understand and improve a “design”
  • Software – Use Computer Aided Design (CAD) to design and draw in 3D
  • 3D Printing and Modeling – solving the “design problem” by producing an end product

All forms and payment due on or before May 10, 2019.

  • Tuesday 9 am - 5 pm
  • Wednesday 8 am - 3 pm
