Lillie Snider, NE District Representative

Lillie Snider of Payne County is serving as a Northeast District Representative to the Oklahoma 4-H State Council. Her work in 4-H focuses on public speaking and healthy living.

“Public Speaking is one of my favorite projects,” Snider said. “Anytime that I hear of an upcoming speech contest, I try my best to have a speech prepared! I like speaking on some of my other project areas such as healthy living, in which I teach people about the importance of staying hydrated.”

This upcoming year, she is so excited to talk to groups about Type II Diabetes Prevention and Energy Drink Hazards.

“My favorite 4-H memory was winning the National 4-H Roundup Classic Speech Contest in Denver, Colorado” said Snider. “I worked hard at preparing my speech, and when it finally came time for me to give it, none of the pictures in my powerpoint showed up. I improvised, laughed, and did my best to give my speech without the diagrams and visual aids. In the end, I thought I had no chance at winning, and to my surprise I received first!”

Her main goal as a State Officer is to help others by continuing to make the best better.
