4-H Youth Development

Kayla Chaplin, SE District Representative

Kayla Chaplin of Leflore County is serving as a Southeast District Representative to the Oklahoma 4-H State Leadership Council. She says that the majority of her project work is her service to others.

“In my project area of leadership,” Chaplin said, “I am involved in planning various 4-H events and leading workshops on various levels. I also help train new 4-H members to become the leaders of tomorrow.”

Her personal goal for this year is to encourage 4-H members to step up into leadership roles on the county, district, and even state levels.

“Stepping out of your comfort zone can be scary,” Chaplin said. “But my mission is to show 4-Hers that stepping out is completely worth it, and it could end up changing their lives like mine.”
